 Napster!
What is Napster?
Welcome to our guide to Napster. Napster is a software system between a client
(you) and a web server (computer) that people connect to share mp3 files. If you
have mp3 files on your hard drive, you can share them with other people. In
turn, other people share theirs. It is bascially a rich mans version of IRC.
The napster server computer keeps track of who
has which files. You can search the huge napster server list of files for
specific mp3's. Once you find one, you double click to download it. You are
connect directly with the person who has the file.
To get started, download the latest napster client from Napster.com. Setup is rather easy. After
starting napster, it with automatically log you into a server. You can then use
the 'search' function to search for files.
