The Impy3 consists of a base computer and a "T" shaped device which
contains a keypad and a four-line 20-character LCD screen. The "T" shaped
device, which is called the "Impy", is used to control
Winamp on the base computer through the use of keypad-controlled menus.
You hook it up to your home computer through a parallel port or an ethernet
connection to your main computer, and transfer your MP3 files and playlists
to the device.
You can order an Impy3 with a CD-ROM to rip CDs
and create MP3s and playlists directly with the Impy3. You need
to access a keyboard and monitor to rip and create
playlists directly on the Impy3. The base comes with a 8.4GB drive. with
an optional 17.2gig drive.

lighter. There are also options to connect the Monolith directly to the
car's electrical system. You can place the receiver in the trunk an
control the unit with the RF remote. The system is small enough that it
can be easily removed and carried into the home to add/remove songs with
the provided parallel port cables and licensed software. Wireless
networking options are available for those interested, but be prepared to
pay big buck.
