 Napster Find
After you enter your search words, napster will search its lists for any matches. Matches that are found (up to 100) will
be returned in the lower pane of the search tab. To download a file, double click on it or right click and select download.

You can click on any of the fields to sort the results by that field. Off to the left of each line are color dots that tell you what the users line speed is:
o Green: Dsl, cable modem and T1+ (t1 is a really, really fast connection)
o Yellow: 56K modem
o Red: 33.6 modems and below
Napster Search Results Fields Breakdown:
- Filename: Name of the file as it exists on this users system. Filenames usually begine with the artist followed by a - dash, and the title. Sometimes the name of the album and track number is also included.
- Filesize: How big the file is in bytes. One of the immutable laws of the galaxy is that the bigger the file, longer the download.
- Bitrate: How high a rate wast he mp3 sampled at? Higher the bitrate, the better it sounds.
- Length: Playing length in time for this file.
- User: Who is it? Try not to hit the same person for too many files at the same time. Spread your downloads around.
- Frequency: Frequency range that the file was recorded in - higher the range - better the file.
- Connection: This users claimed connection speed. A general indicator of how fast the file might download. Varies widely due to many factors: how many files the user currently is downloading and uploading, net congestion. etc. You may right click on the file and select user info to see how many files a user is currently downloading and uploading.
- Ping time: If you check the 'ping time' option under the advanced options, ping times will show up here.
- User: Who is this?
